🐦 We had a fantastic morning at the Glenview Farmers Market Green Table at the historic Wagner Farm! A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn about the joys of backyard bird feeding. 🌿
Our special guest, Future Canine Companions Service Dog Kurby, joined owner Ron Zick, making it an even more memorable day! 🐾 Kurby did an amazing job and had a great training experience—what a future dog hero! We’re so proud of him! 🐶💛

We love participating actively in the local community by hosting bird walks and giving educational presentations. Call the store to find out what's currently scheduled. We are also passionate about our community involvement with Canine Companions. Owner Ron Zick and his family of Wild Birds Unlimited Arlington Heights and Glenview, IL, stores are volunteer puppy raisers for the service dog organization Canine Companions. Currently, they are raising and training Future Service Dog Kurby. He is a Lab/Golden Retriever mix who will matriculate in August of 2025. The Zick family are members of the Greater Chicagoland Canine Companions Volunteer Chapter and the Great Lakes Canine Companions Volunteer Chapter. These two Caine Companions Chapters of puppy raisers raise and train puppies for the North Central Region of the United States. The Chicagoland area is in the North Central Region.
Canine Companions' mission is to raise and train excellent service dogs for individuals with disabilities so they can lead a life of independence. Canine Companions can fulfill their mission because volunteer puppy raisers nationwide spend a year and a half raising, socializing, and teaching more than 30 cues to ready these unique dog heroes for professional training. The incredible giving spirit of all involved in Canine Companions and the love for these amazing dogs change lives every day. We are excited to report that Kurby's training is progressing, and he is ready to socialize and train in the stores for short periods (2-4 hours). Per request, we will announce Kurby's days in the stores on our social media platforms. Thank you to all who have participated in and will participate in Kurby's training. Go change a life!
